The ABC’s of Legend of Novaria:

ABC’s

Notice that the top part of the UI is red because this player is engaged in a battle. Normally it is just the same as the rest of the space background.

Fleet - you have a basic fleet size of 5000 different ships take up varying amounts of space - Gorians have the special ability to increase your maximum fleet size by 200 for every 1 Gorian on your fleet

Ships -

  • Vipers - low cost, low time to build, small size, attack capabilities, cannot mine or carry minerals
  • P.V.P’s - essential for mining and collecting minerals, can transport minerals, cannot attack, size 2, take twice as long as boosts to build
  • Fireflies - need at least 100 XP to build these, very strong attack capabilities, good shields, large size means they can also carry minerals, cannot mine
  • Gorians - the largest ships currently available, formidable shields, each Gorian expands your fleet size by 200

More ships to come……

Cooldowns - the amount of time you must wait to mine again or travel again (remember this is a strategy game so think carefully!)

  • Travel = 45 mins plus the distance in AU X 15 mins - so if you were to do a 3 AU space hop then your cooldown would be 1h 30 mins

Mining Cooldown

  • Planets = 1 hour
  • Asteroids = 20 mins
  • Salvage (collecting) = 12 mins

Astronomical Units (AU) - the measurement of distance in the NovaVerse

Shields - these protect you in battles, shields are like your fleets health

Attack - the power of your fleet in battles - the fleet/or combined fleets working as an alliance

Travel - You can only travel a maximum of 5AU and then you will need to rest until the travel cooldown has expired before you can travel on (see cooldown timelines above)

Travel Cost = travel cost: .001 NOVA * distance^2 * fleetSize

Planets - these have precious minerals that you’d want to mine. These minerals get replenished over time.

Asteroids - like planets, these also have minerals to mine. These asteroids can be mined 3X faster than planets! Mine confirm is 10 mins

Salvage - after battles, destroyed ships leave plenty of minerals to be salvaged. The salvage “mineral” can be 'collected' 5X faster than mining a planet! You can ‘collect’salvage once every 10 mins - if your mining cooldown is still active you will need to wait for that to expire before you can start collecting salvage!

Wormholes - you can travel through these and get access to far out places in the NovaVerse - (NEED THE NUMBERS HERE)

Explore - this is an expensive endeavor but can be very rewarding! You can explore up to 2 AU’s from where you are on the map. A yellow dot represents an unexplored part of the NovaVerse

Shipyards - if you find a planet with a shipyard on it, you will be able to claim it and set a fee for other people to come and build ships there. You will have 1 week grace period before anyone else (and their fleet) can attack you and try to take over your shipyard.

  • Whomever owns the shipyard can change the shipyard name and fee whenever they want to - there are no NOVA fees for this, just BNB gas fee
  • The contract checks to ensure that the fee has not been changed by the owner just before, if it has the tx will be reverted

Shipyard takeovers - the shipyard on Haven can never be taken over however all other shipyards can be - the mechanics work in the same way that the battles work - once the grace period is over you can click the 'shipyard takeover' button and commence your coup -

TAKEOVER MECHANICS:
Any player with at least 1000 fleet size can initiate a TAKEOVER. Once initiated, they have to maintain control of the shipyard for 24 hours and have at least 200 fleet size after the battles to complete the takeover when the timer ends.

And this is where it gets interesting…

During this 24hr period, anyone can attack you (using regular battle mechanics), you cannot leave the shipyard, and if a player with a larger fleet size comes and initiates a hostile takeover, they can push you out AND start a new 24 hour timer to try to complete the takeover themselves!

You can ‘collect’salvage once every 6 mins - of your mining cooldown is still active you will need to wait for that to expire before you can start collecting salvage!

Wormholes - you can travel through these and get access to far out places in the NovaVerse - (NEED THE NUMBERS HERE)

Power - how strong your fleet is

Shields - these will give you defensive power against would-be attackers

Mining Power - the rate at which you can mine minerals between cooldowns

Mineral Capacity - the maximum load of minerals you can carry before having to find a refinery to process your minerals into previous NOVA!

Refineries - bring your minerals to any refinery to extract the valuable NOVA — refineries are also safe havens or 'demilitarised zones' (DMZ)

DMZ - a safe place to dock your fleet whilst you are not playing the game

XP = Experience Points - for every 5 NOVA you spend you will add an extra XP point. XP is very useful as it unlocks more advanced ships that you can buy for your fleet. At 1000 XP, you get a 1% reduction on your travel fees. This reduction in travel fees also increases linearly after 1000 XP.

Battles -

  • you can initiate a battle with anyone who has a fleet size that is at least/most 4x the size of yours
  • Join attackers - anyone can join the attackers
  • Join defenders - anyone can join the defenders
  • Resolve - from when an attack is initiated there is a 1-hour wait period to allow defenders the opportunely to raise their armies to fight back. Likewise, attackers can raise more troops to help them in the battle. Anyone can press the “resolve battle” button when it becomes live after 1 hour. The resolve button can be ordered by anyone and once pressed the damages are immediately calculated and are allocated accordingly.
  • Battle calculations - The attack power gets distributed among the players and ships based on total size, then the shields kick in. if the distributed attack power is greater than the shield, it destroys the ship. So, if I have 100 vipers with 100 attack, and you have 50 vipers (50 size) and 50 moles (100 size), 66 of my viper attack gets sent to your moles, and 33 sent to your vipers. So, the vipers each have 3 shield, so you would lose 11 vipers (33/3) to my 33 viper attack damage. Your moles have 5 shield each, so you would lose 13 moles (66/5) to my 66 viper attack

Salvage - defeated ships leave behind mineral which can be collected at 5X the speed of normal mining. This means that successful battles can be very rewarding for the winners!

The fees and distribution -

70% of fees go to the Money Pot (split 25/75 team/sNova holders)
30% remaining is for maintaining in-game rewards like minerals on asteroids that will be refined into NOVA.

When you build ships, 40% of the ship’s cost is reserved for salvage (what is created when blowing up ships), then the remaining is split up like the normal fees. This is to make sure that we are creating a sustainable pool of rewards for all players of LoN!

What are the odds ?

  • Planets exist within 3AU radius of stars
  • You have a 12% chance of finding a planet
  • You have a 10% chance of finding a refinery out of those stars
  • You have a 20% chance of finding a shipyard
  • You have a 16% chance of finding a new star of you are 7au away from another star
  • Rewards distribution - emissions
  • Star luminosity - how does this work - higher luminosity means more emissions - emissions are divided between planets - closer planets get more of the emissions
  • You have xxx% chance to find a wormhole
  • 55% to 60% of our block emissions 0.3 NOVA per block are being directed to feed LoN in addition to the 200k NOVA we will be beginning with - our tokenomics also guaranteed that 50% of battle losses go back into the game creating a positive feedback loop - the rest go back into our 75% to the money pot and the other 25% to our marketing and development wallet
  • 40% of NOVA spent building fleets is reserved for salvage during battles the other 60% is split 75% to the money pot for sNOVA holders and 25% to marketing and development

Basic navigation

The star map (a message from our cyborg devs)

In trust browser if you go to the overview map and are looking at the whole map then press the location button it opens up on the location you are in then pressing it again just refreshes that page then pressing the star map button again takes you back to the last place you were looking at - then to come back on the star map you need to scroll to the bottom of the map page and click 'my location' to bring you back to where you are located on the overview star map

So, on firefox browser, any time you click the 'location' button on the menu, it takes you to your current location. On chromium browsers, it takes you to your current location if you click 'location' from any other page besides location. On chrome, if you're already on the location page and you switch to a different coordinate, and click on the location button again, it keeps you on the coordinate you were on.

However, I'm not really sure how it works for other browsers. Probably we'll look at the interaction on trust wallet browsers, since that will be one of the main ones for crypto. Eventually I'll have to look at safari, too (fml).
